Built in 1845 in Decorated style by architect George Russell French to serve the growing population of Lexden and Stanway, Colchester, to coincide with the creation of the new Stanway parish. The parish was renamed Shrub End in 1960. In red brick, with Caen stone dressing and splay-footed slated spire.
