St Osyth - SS Peter & Paul - Sheepfold Rail

In the chancel is a unique 'horseshoe' or 'sheepfold' communion rail pictured above. This is Victorian replacement of a 17th century wooden one of the same shape. With the open end towards the congregation, the sheepfold is used as an enclosure for those receiving communion.
