Wennington - St Mary St Peter

A restored medieval church of rubble with limestone dressings, with early Norman foundations, with the nave, chancel and south aisle rebuilt in the 13th century. A 12th century Norman round-arched door way survived, although it has been moved to its present location. The tower came later: and is probably 14th century although it retains the low, broad, unbuttressed appearance of the early Middle Ages.
