High Laver - All Saints

A simple church with a Norman nave and 13th century chancel. The tower and chancel arch are 14th century. It's such a shame this beautiful church is locked. The philosopher John Locke (1632 - 1704), whose theories of Classical Liberalism shaped the American Declaration of Independence, spent the last 13 years of his life nearby and is buried in the churchyard.
