High Easter - St Mary's Font

The 14th century font has an octagonal bowl, with faces carved alternately with angels holding shields and with symbols of the Evangelists. Above is the Winged Ox, the symbol for Luke the Evangelist. (The others are: John - the Eagle, Mark - the Winged Lion, Matthew - the Winged Man or angel).
