Internally the church is simple and peaceful. The nave and the western end of the chancel are Saxon. The chancel was extended around 1210 when the present eastern wall was built. The east window was inserted during the early 14th century, when the tower was built. The larger windows on each side of the nave were added at around 1400, at about the same time as the font was created. The church was restored in 1858-9 with the addition of extra buttresses, repairs to the chancel arch and the squint. At this time the original stone altar slab was found buried in the churchyard and returned to its original purpose. The roof is a simple king post roof supported by tie-beams inserted during the 14th century.
