The tower of St Margarets was built early in the 16th century and has the most enormous buttress. The church is in a low-lying area and the churchyard is quite marshy, which might explain why so much support is needed.
The bells are 14th century (amongst the oldest in the county, and older than the church) and are still rung regularly. One of the bells is inscribed "Sancta Katerina Ora Pro Nobis,"; the second has the inscription "Sit Nomen Domini Benedictum."
