Messing - All Saints - East Window

This window was created by Abraham van Linge in 1628 and represents acts of mercy shown to those who were sick, hungry, thirsty, naked, a stranger or in prison (Matthew 25:36). During the English Civil War and the siege of Colchester, 1648, the window was carefully removed and placed in the Church's great chest, together with other church treasures, and hidden in the church’s vault, thus preserving it from destruction.
