The church is probably fourteenth century in origin. The bell turret was added in the fifteenth or sixteenth century. The church was heavily restored in Victorian times with the north aisle, porch and vestry added at that stage. The chancel was restored in 1872, and refurnished in 1881. The spire was rebuilt in 1891.
